Membership
There are no fees for Membership to the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health. The different Membership classifications are listed below along with requirements for and benefits of Membership.
The Fulbright Academy of Law does not believe that Fulbright Scholars, or recipients of any Fulbright Award or Prize, should have to pay a fee to join an alumni membership organization whose purpose is the promotion of the ideals of the late United States Senator J. William Fulbright and the United States Fulbright Scholarship Program – specifically, to foster leadership, learning, and empathy between cultures, the promotion of academic excellence, scholarship, understanding, fundamental freedoms, tolerance, and respect for human rights and human dignity.
By joining the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health, the prospective Member grants permission to the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health to share the Member’s name with other Members of the Fulbright Academy of Law and also for the publishing of a brief biographical professional summary from the information the Member has submitted.
Categories of Membership
The below categories of membership to the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health are included for Fulbright Scholars or Fulbright Award or Prize recipients, regardless of study discipline, and also include a category for non-Fulbright award recipients. Membership to the Fulbright Academy of Law is meritorious based; there are no membership fees as described below. An Application is required for each category of Membership described.
Scholar Membership
The category of Scholar Membership is open to all former Fulbright Scholars or Fulbright Award or Prize recipients, regardless of study discipline. No membership fee is required. A completed Application for Scholar Membership to the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health is required which, upon submission, will be reviewed by members of the Board of Governors and upon acceptance a Scholar Membership Certificate will be issued. Scholar Membership offers benefits such as (1) reduced registration fees to all Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health conferences, symposia, seminars, etc.; (2) invitations to meetings and events sponsored by the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health; (3) advanced notice for Abstract Submissions for presentations at the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health conferences, symposia, seminars, etc. and (4) opportunities for Committee Membership, Committee Leadership, and collaborative activities with other Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health Scholar Members.
Associate Membership
The category of Associate Membership is open to all non-Fulbright Scholars and non- Fulbright Award or Prize recipients. No membership fee is required. Membership is based on either on notable recognized meritorious contribution in one’s discipline, and / or acceptance of an Abstract and Paper Presentation at one of the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health conferences, symposia, seminars, etc. A completed Application for Associate Membership to the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health is required which, upon submission and after Abstract / Paper presentation, will be reviewed by members of the Board of Governors and upon acceptance an Associate Membership Certificate will be issued. Associate Membership offers benefits such as (1) invitations to meetings and events sponsored by the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health; (2) advanced notice for Abstract Submissions for presentations at the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health conferences, symposia, seminars, etc. and (3) opportunities for collaborative activities with other Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health members.
Institutional Membership
Institutional Membership to the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health is offered to those organizations, institutions, entities, government agencies, colleges, universities, etc. who support either the Fulbright Academy of Law, Peace and Public Health, or the Fulbright Scholarship Program (either in the United States or internationally). Their support may be evidenced by sponsoring seminars, conferences, symposia, or etc. at their home institution, or through their support, either financial or in kind, to the Fulbright Academy of Law or the Fulbright Scholarship Program.
